Building Control Surveyor opportunity with Southend-on-Sea City Council

The Council is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed professional who would like to come and work within their Building Control team. There are a number of large and interesting projects in the pipeline, from major residential schemes and large seafront leisure developments, along with day-to-day householder projects.

Your new role

You will be involved in the delivery of the Building Control function and ensure that the Council's obligations under the Building Act and associated legislation with regards to health and safety, welfare and convenience of persons in or about buildings are administered and enforced. This will include a multitude of tasks including site inspections, plan checking and completing enforcement actions.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful for this role, you should have a degree qualification (or equivalent) and be a registered Building Inspector. Prior experience within Building Control is essential and you will be required to provide your own vehicle for work purposes. Please note, you will be regularly required to attend site inspections within the borough.
