Your new company

You will be working for a part of one of the largest infrastructure service providers across the UK. This organisation works hand in hand with major public and private sector companies including the Ministry of Justice, local Councils and utilities companies amongst others.

This company is able to provide great work spaces for both permanent staff and contractors with multiple sites across the country. They have large ongoing projects at the moment and require additional support in the form of an IT engineer with strong experience on delivering help across a wide IT landscape.

• The contract on offer is going to be for a 3 month period (with potential extensions)
• This role will be hybrid working - with the requirement to go on site in Chorley a few days per week along with potential further requirements to visit and support at other sites ranging across the North of England and the Midlands on occasion.

Your new role

• Efficiently retrieve and manage laptops for users, ensuring accurate tracking and records.
• Provide 1st and 2nd line support for IT issues, resolving common problems and escalating complex cases.
• Manage the ordering and supply of consumables and devices, including coordination with third-party suppliers.
• Maintain and update device inventory and asset management systems.
• Reduce repeatable service-desk backlog ( basic M365 issues, diagnosing issues,
  straightforward hardware faults).
• Create and maintain how-to documents and training guides for users and IT processes.
• Leave behind updated SOPs/KB articles and trackers for a clean BAU handover.
