Your new company

Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Runcorn-based single form entry primary school that is not accessible via public transport as they require 1:1 support due to a teaching assistant leaving the school. This is a full-time ongoing contract consisting of 1:1 support for a male pupil in Year 2 with a dual ASD and PDA diagnosis.


Your new role

This is an extremely welcoming and supportive school that is at the heart of its local community. You will be joining the school to support a male year 2 pupil on a 1:1 basis. You will play a key part in his education, acting as his main point of contact throughout the school day and acting as his advocate. Your pupil has a high function ASD diagnosis, suspected PDA and has a huge personality. Unfortunately, due to his needs, he is not at capacity and has the emotional development of a 3-year-old. You will support him within the main classroom and resource provision, delivering speech and language and emotional development support within both rooms. You will have a full support structure in place with 1 main class teacher, 1 specialist teacher for 2 hours each morning and additional teaching assistants.


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered in your application, you must have a minimum of 40 days referenceable classroom experience within the last 2 years, full "Right to Work" in the UK, and:

  • Experience supporting SEN, ASD and PDA is highly advatageous
  • Be able to deliver holistic positive behaviour strategies
  • Be able to commit to a full-time contract, 32.5 hours per week
  • Have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
