Your new school

A welcoming and inclusive junior school in the Sheldon area is seeking a full-time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 3 from September. Your new role

  • Supporting a child in Year 3 who is autistic and requires a consistent, nurturing approach.
  • Pre-verbal/minimally verbal and uses visual communication strategies.
  • Is currently in pull-ups and requires support with toileting.
  • Will use a potty rather than a toilet and is not yet able to manage toileting independently.
  • Requires close supervision throughout the day
  • Benefits from sensory regulation strategies and structured routines.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting children with autism.
  • Knowledge of sensory processing needs and sensory regulation strategies.
  • Experience supporting pre-verbal or minimally verbal children.
  • Experience with toileting support.
  • The ability to work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider school team.
