Primary school in Wigan is seeking a 1:1 TA to start ASAP.

Your new company

Hays education have been approached by a primary school located in Orrell, Wigan, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with an SEN child. This role is starting ASAP and will be on a long-term basis and has the potential to extend until the end of the academic year. This is a school with a very supportive staff network. Experience working with SEN children is not essential, the school are open to someone with the right approach and interest in the role.


Your new role

In your new role, you will need to support a pupil in Y2 and you will be responsible for providing 1:1 support for that child. Duties will include working closely with the class teacher around planning and development of the pupil, working with the pupil around behaviour and liaising with parents and SLT regarding the pupil. You will need to ensure the child is fully supported and progressing with their learning, and it will include small group and 1:1 work, occasionally taking the child out of class to provide that extra support. If you feel you can commit to this role 5 days a week until the end of the academic year, please get in touch.


What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess recent experience working with children and previous experience supporting SEN children is not essential, even if you have limited experience, we want to hear from you. You should feel confident working with children in a 1:1 setting as well as being friendly and enthusiastic. You will need to be available to start as soon as possible and continue through until summer.
