Yr 4 1:1 SEN TA needed Immediately - Harbourne, full time 5 days

Are you a compassionate, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next rewarding role? I am currently working with a warm, welcoming and high‑achieving Primary school in the Harborne area who are seeking a 1:1 SEN TA to work with a child in Year 4 with Autism.

Your new role

You will be working 1:1 with a child in Year 4 with Autism, supporting them throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing tailored support to help the child access learning
  • Implementing strategies recommended by the SENCO and external professionals
  • Supporting regulation, communication and social interaction
  • Adapting activities to suit individual needs
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and progress reviews
This role requires consistency, empathy, resilience and a warm, child‑centred approach.


What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you should have:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting children with Autism or other additional needs
  • A calm, nurturing and proactive approach
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and SEND best practice
