1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Cirencester

Start: ASAP

Hours: Full‑time or part‑time available

A supportive primary school in Cirencester is looking for a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.

Role Overview

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
  • Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
  • Assist with classroom routines, transitions and small‑group activities where needed

Candidate Profile

  • Previous SEN experience is essential
  • Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupil needs
  • Strong communication and rapport‑building skills
  • Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable
  • Driving licence advantageous (due to school location)

SEN training highly valued, including:

  • Understanding Autism
  • ADHD Awareness
  • Team Teach / De‑escalation Training
  • Trauma‑Informed Practice
  • BSL or other communication‑focused training
  • Makaton (highly desirable)
