1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Job - Part Time

Join Our Team: Year 5 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant – Bristol
Location: Supportive Primary School in Bristol
Start Date: September 2025 (or as soon as possible)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Fixed-term & Permanent positions

We’re working with a welcoming primary school in Bristol to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is ideal for someone patient, resilient, and committed to making a positive impact on a child’s educational journey.


Your Role Will Include:
• Providing consistent 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with SEMH needs
• Implementing strategies to promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Supporting access to learning across core subjects
• Building trust and encouraging confidence and independence
• Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support


What We’re Looking For:
• A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs – desirable
• Relevant TA qualification or experience – a plus, but not essential
