We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-rounded secondary school in Wigan who are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their department from after the Easter holidays until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to extend into the next academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive English department that values creativity, discussion, and high-quality teaching, with strong leadership and a positive school culture.

✍️ The Role

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience welcomed but not essential)
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons in English Language and Literature
  • Encouraging confident reading, writing, and critical thinking
  • Assessing progress and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Working collaboratively within a friendly, established English department

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • A UK‑qualified English Teacher (QTS or QTLS)
  • Confident classroom practitioner across KS3‑KS4
  • A passion for literature, language, and inspiring young learners
  • Someone reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to high standards
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
