Supporting Students with SEMH Needs in a Special School

About the Role
Weโre looking for dedicated, compassionate, and resilient mentors to join our vibrant special school community. Youโll work closely with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing both 1:1 support and working alongside whole classes to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment.
What Youโll Do
- Build Trusting Relationships: Be a consistent, positive presence for students who need it most.
- 1:1 Support: Guide individual students through challenges, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and self-belief.
- Whole Class Engagement: Work collaboratively with teachers to create inclusive, engaging learning experiences for all.
- Champion Wellbeing: Support studentsโ emotional and mental health, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
- Inspire Growth: Celebrate every achievement, big or small, and help students discover their strengths.
What Weโre Looking For
- A genuine passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a sense of humour!
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working with children or young people (in any setting) is a bonus, but not essentialโyour attitude and commitment matter most.
- Willingness to learn and grow as part of a supportive team.
