Hays are now looking for a SQL Developer for one of our local clients:
- £430 p/d Inside IR35
- 2 days a week onsite, the rest is WFH
- Location is Cheshire

What you’ll be doing
- Developing and engineering SQL-based solutions to support key technology initiatives
- Enhancing solution design and delivery, ensuring seamless integration with internal platforms
- Adhering to best practices for change control, database security, and governance
- Producing and maintaining clear documentation across all solution components
- Collaborating proactively across infrastructure teams and promoting best practices
- Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
What we’re looking for
- Strong expertise in C#, PowerShell scripting, WebAPI, and JSON/API integration
- Solid experience in backend development with MSSQL (MongoDB desirable)
- Hands-on experience with Kafka, Ansible (AAP 2.4/2.5), and DevOps tooling (Git, Jenkins, Confluence)
- Exposure to AI-assisted development (e.g. GitLab Duo, Claude)
- Good understanding of SDLC, DevOps practices, and Agile methodologies
- Working knowledge of data structures, algorithms, coding best practices, and automation
