Financial Accountant – 12 Month FTC
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid Working Available) Salary: £52,000 Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Your new role

As Financial Accountant, you’ll take on a pivotal role within the Finance Directorate, ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing statutory accounts and managing general ledger controls
  • Leading the year-end process and supporting internal/external audits
  • Managing technical areas such as IFRS 16 lease accounting and corporation tax analysis
  • Posting and reviewing journal entries to maintain financial accuracy
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial controls and procedures
This is a broad and impactful role, offering exposure to complex financial reporting and the opportunity to influence best practice across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
  • Full qualification (ICAS, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong experience in financial statement preparation and auditing
  • Deep technical knowledge of IFRS, VAT, payroll, and other relevant standards
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for data analysis and presentation
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a methodical and commercially focused mindset
