Social Care - Working in the UK

People travel overseas to work for a variety of reasons ranging from a working holiday, career progression, work experience or life/cultural experience – for you it might be all of these.

The UK has something for everyone, is your gateway to Europe, a melting pot of diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds and remains one of the world’s leading economies. We can offer overseas travellers a wealth of history and tradition, beautiful scenery and endless stimulation.

Before we can find you a suitable position you must be eligible to work in the UK. Our recruitment consultants can offer you advice on your eligibility to help you decide whether working in the UK is the right move for you and your career.

Working Options
Hays Social Care is one of the leading recruitment agencies in the UK for social work and social care professionals. We have successfully won a wide range of contracts within Local Authorities, the NHS, Voluntary and Charitable organisations and private care home providers. All of which gives you access to some of the best employment opportunities in the UK.

Locum/temporary
In order to work on a locum or temporary basis in the UK you must be eligible for a Working Holiday Visa or have a UK Passport or have the right to work in the UK unrestricted.

Working on temporary assignments is often the prime career choice for many social work and social care professionals. Whether it’s working short-term, on long-term supply contracts, on a full or part-time basis – you’ll benefit from being paid weekly. We work with you to meet your individual needs, selecting social care jobs that match your experience and personality, offering you the opportunity to earn and enhance your career whilst travelling around the UK and Europe.

Permanent
For professionals wishing to work on longer-term contracts (12 months plus) or in permanent positions, or if you are not eligible for a Working Holiday Visa, we can assist you to obtain a work permit. This will enable you to work in your chosen profession and preferred location anywhere in the UK.

Throughout the permanent process you will benefit from direct contact with a UK consultant who will provide all the assistance you need until you are safely and securely settled in your new job.
