Hays, in association with The Times, is delighted to announce that the winner of the PA of the Year 2010 Award is Laura Richardson. Laura, who works for Elexon, won the award due to her ability to show a high level of initiative and a strong understanding of the way in which a business works. Laura was chosen by a panel of judges that included Karren Brady, one of the UK’s leading business women and Apprentice mentor.
Laura was announced as the winner in an official ceremony that took place on the 27 th May at the Landmark hotel in London. Laura has won a dream holiday for two at the five star Aldrovandi Palace Hotel in Rome, courtesy of Corporate Traveller. Laura says: “I am absolutely delighted to be named as the PA of the Year! I think the PA role is a fantastic career choice; it’s a busy, varied role where you can add real value to a business at the highest level. People don’t always realise the importance of PAs so it’s brilliant that Hays and The Times are giving PAs the recognition that they deserve!”
Hays would also like to congratulate this year’s runner up Emma Jones and the finalists Julie Britt, Emma Kernan-Staines, Karen Brigden and Joanne Quimby who all showed exceptional talent and dedication to their profession
Karren Brady said: “It is important that we recognise those who are doing an excellent job and make some noise about it. Many people don’t quite realise how demanding a PA’s job is, and it is great that Hays PA & Secretarial is throwing the limelight their way. My congratulations go out to Laura.”
