Technology Sales

Despite market conditions being tough at the moment due to the global financial crisis, technology sales is still comparably a buoyant market.

Companies still require strong sales teams to increase market share and manage existing clients. Technology is an extremely dynamic sector with continuous demand for new applications and services, especially if they save businesses money in the current climate.

Not only are businesses of all sizes looking to reduce overheads through outsourcing processes or infrastructure (ITO/BPO), there is also an increasing awareness that companies need to be changing their digital strategies in order to remain competitive and forward thinking. Digital strategies are driven by technology, requiring strong sales professionals to promote these new concepts. Open-source technologies are providing businesses with free applications, providing yet another cost saving solution within the current economic climate.

One of the main hot topics within the technology world is the concept of cloud computing. Cloud computing has seen various companies enter the market using sales professionals to promote technology and advise businesses on their infrastructure. With recent events in the financial world, there is now a large emphasis on risk within the banking sector. This has resulted in new technologies being created, again requiring sales and pre-sales professionals to sell and implement.

With all of these factors in mind, there are certainly opportunities of varying levels, from internal sales through to VP sales for experienced technology sales professionals.
