Our latest Public Services report, Innovative Approaches, outlines key findings from our research into the attitudes of those working in the public sector towards pay, benefits and training. Our report offers insightful suggestions about how Public Sector organisations can adapt to meet changing demands, with case studies from award winning organisations on how they have developed innovative solutions to combat austerity and improve services.

Methodology

We carried out a survey of 785 public sector staff across the UK, including employers and employees in local and central government, the NHS and social housing, as well as managers working for private sector firms servicing the sector.

The report also features several case studies from innovative organisations, which were nominated for the Guardian Public Services Awards which took place on the 12th November 2013:

East Sussex

Public Sector People Managers’ Association, Rising Stars programme (East Sussex County Council) won the HR Excellence award at the Guardian Public Services Awards 2013. Find out more.

Hampshire

Hampshire Young Interpreters won the Grassroots Excellence award and was Overall Winner at the Guardian Public Services Awards 2013. The scheme is a resource for schools, allowing the schools to draw on help some of the 700-1,000 children referred to Hampshire County Council, whose first language is not English. Find out more.

Lincolnshire

The Prevention and Avoidance Community Team (PACT) led and supported by Adults Supporting Adults, aims to get adults back home from hospital as quickly and safely as possible. Hundreds of people in Lincolnshire have already been helped to return home after a visit to A&E instead of being admitted to a hospital ward. Find out more.
