Hays is adding experts to its public sector division who will be focused on understanding the needs of employers and devising cost effective solutions. Not only is the public sector faced with cuts, but at the same time as they will be looking for skilled and experienced professionals to lead the organisations and develop innovative ways to recruit staff, growth in the private sector will increase competition for talented individuals. Recruiters will be required to work with a diminishing talent pool to find highly skilled professionals to support the public sector through this period of change.
Andy Robling, Public Services Director at Hays, said: “Although there is a huge focus on budget cuts and job losses, losing sight of the need to have the best skills to manage change would be harmful in the long term. The new team, combined with our existing in-depth knowledge of the sector, will allow us to be in the best possible position to support employers through this transition period. The changing landscape of the public sector provides us with the opportunity to add real value and the reforms we are making to our business model will allow us to work even more closely with clients to find appropriate staffing solutions.”
