Hays was named a winner for its integrated recruitment strategy to recruit 30 members for the newly formed National Tenant Council (NTC), an important part of the National Tenant Voice (NTV). The tenant focus group, which lobbies Government and policy makers, needed an innovative recruitment campaign in order to reach social housing tenants who represent the diversity of tenants across England. The solution from Hays featured a bespoke microsite with video and utilised several social media channels.
Online recruitment tools were employed to overcome the challenges and perceived drawbacks to the roles. For example, the social media strategy was used to engage hard-to-reach candidates, which included a dedicated NTV Facebook page, a NTV video was featured on YouTube and Twitter was used by consultants to spread the word.
Catherine Toms, Business Director at Hays Digital & Creative and Matt Lewis, Director at Hays Social Housing, worked with the client to devise an appropriate campaign. Catherine says: "We are pleased to have won this prestigious award as it recognises outstanding accomplishments within the industry. The NTV campaign was unique in regards to its requirements and the overall quality of the individual candidates was excellent, with many of them exceeding the stated core competencies and the diversity requirements. Substantial management information allowed us to track its success, with NTV even estimating that 100% of social landlords and 90% of all tenants were aware of the campaign."
