Recruiting business advises Croxteth pupils and teachers

Hays Education, the leading recruiting expert, is working with students at Croxteth Secondary School in Liverpool. The Hays Ignition programme will teach students how their journey through education transcends into the world of work and they will be encouraged to have confidence in themselves and their skills. The pupils will gain an understanding of the value of work, why it improves quality of life and how to choose a suitable career. By the end of the course, which is supported by Jimmy McGinn, Extended Schools Support Officer for Alt Valley, every pupil will end up with a basic CV that they can take to a potential employee or college.

The Hays Ignition project has already raised aspirations of over 11,000 pupils since Hays Ignition was launched three years ago. Hays experts have been working with Croxteth School since January and the course is due to run until the 26 th March 2010.

Jenny Ward, National Business Manager at Hays Education, comments: "Hays Ignition brings the world of work into the classroom. We're not teachers, we're recruiting experts and we know what employers are looking for in their future workforce. We hope to have a dramatic and transformative effect on these pupils as we try to arm them with the skills they need to secure employment or proceed into higher education."

Alma Mason, Deputy Head at Croxteth Secondary School, states: "Croxteth Community Comprehensive School has been very impressed with the Ignition Programme delivered by Hays Education. Our Year 11 students have responded most enthusiastically and now acknowledge the importance of thorough preparation for the world of work. They are also far more focused and committed to enhancing their personal effectiveness. The teaching staff has been so impressed they have requested similar workshops from Hays to support their own career development."
