Shortage of education professionals to meet demand in Essex

Local schools are experiencing a shortage of education professionals from support staff all the way up to head teachers. Teachers with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or a recognised teaching qualification, are highly sought after, particularly those professionals who have specialised in technical subjects such as maths and science.

Hazel Baxter, Senior Business Manager at Hays Education, comments: "Despite the current downturn there are skills shortages within the region and individuals with relevant experience and qualifications are in demand. We are currently looking both in and out of the region to meet these skills gaps and those who are interested in applying should contact the Hays Education team. It is promising that despite the downturn and the rising unemployment there is still demand for teaching professionals.''
