Blue chips seeking qualified finance professionals

Hays Senior Finance, the world's leading recruiting expert, is experiencing increased demand for qualified finance professionals within blue chip companies, across the UK. The opportunities are largely for newly-created rather than replacement roles, which spells good news for accountants.

In the current economy employers are focusing on cost management and driving cost efficiencies. Blue chip companies are growing more confident about the market and have started stepping up their hires of finance professionals. CIMA professionals are in demand; they are seen as being able to hit the ground running due to their experience in the commercial elements of finance. In particular, business and financial analysts are sought after across a number of industries, including telecoms, FMCG and retail. Professionals with auditing skills and ACAs with 2 or 3 years post qualified experience are also highly sought after.

"There are currently excellent opportunities for high calibre finance professionals across all levels and all sectors in the UK and internationally," comments Teresa Thorrington-Allen, National Director of Hays Senior Finance. "This is positive news for professionals coming into the industry. Employers are beginning to look at adding to their existing talent pool and want to be sure that they have a strong team with the right skills in place ready for when the economy improves. "
