Despite the current doom and gloom, Hays Senior Finance reports an increasing need for qualified accountants with Insurance experience in the Bournemouth region.
‘There are a large number of insurance companies based in the Bournemouth area’ comments Paul Thomas, Director of Senior Finance on the South Coast. ‘Some of the increase in demand is down to recruitment drives in smaller firms; in some of the larger firms expansion has created new roles.’
‘It is positive news in the face of everything we are hearing,’ says Thomas. ‘The Insurance sector appears to be benefiting from the credit crunch. Over the last two months we have seen a sharp increase in demand for senior level candidates in this sector.’
‘Insurance clients will tend to recruit from their own industry,’ Thomas comments. ‘This often means there is a premium paid on the appointment.’
