Welcome

WELCOME TO WYKE MANOR SCHOOL

You have the opportunity of joining us at a very exciting stage in our journey to becoming an outstanding school.

Wyke Manor School is currently designated an 11-18 community school in South Bradford, on the borders of Kirklees and Calderdale.

We are a fully inclusive school which welcomes students from a wide range of backgrounds. It is firmly embedded into our ethos that every child matters and that every child has the right to achieve.

There is no doubt that Wyke Manor School is a rapidly improving school. Our performance in public examinations at KS3 and KS4 in 2008 was the best set of results ever achieved by the school. In the last three years the school has dramatically improved its GCSE results year on year.

We are a school that is going places both in terms of our results and, quite literally, because it is intended that Wyke Manor School will move in September 2011 to a brand new Academy. The Academy proposal agreed to by the DCSF is that Wyke Manor will join with High Fernley, a local Primary school, to create a 3-16 all-through Academy, sponsored by Bradford College. The new Appleton Academy will incorporate the community library and will have the real potential to re-invigorate the local community and make a significant difference to the life chances of the young people in the area.

If we are to succeed in our aim of continuing to improve and become an outstanding school, whilst also making the most of the opportunities provided by the new Academy development to regenerate our community, we need people who are committed and hard working and who enjoy the challenge of creating something new and innovative in education.

If you want to be part of our exciting journey and benefit from excellent career opportunities, development and support we look forward to hearing from you.
