St Anne’s is a fully inclusive Roman Catholic girls’ 11-18 secondary school with specialist status in Business and Enterprise. The school is a place where children can develop in a caring community, where their spiritual and academic developments are equally important. This is achieved through a team effort with parents, governors and all staff working hard to maintain the expectations and support that will lead to the highest possible standards.
In it’s most recent inspection, Ofsted described the school as “a very effective school, with many outstanding features. The students are an outstanding strength of the school.Their attitudes and behaviour are exemplary” This success is based on a culture of mutual respect and caring which permeates through the relationships between staff and students and also between students themselves. There are well-defined policies in place, with a balance of rewards and sanctions. This creates an environment where students are focused on learning and all staff are able to help the girls and the school achieve their potential on every level.
St Anne’s is situated in the London Borough of Enfield, an attractive area in the suburbs of north London. To the north of Enfield lies Hertfordshire, to the east the residential areas of Haringey and Waltham Forest, to the south lays Barnet and to the west is Potters Bar.
The school is currently split over 2 sites. This is as a result of the school being formed by an amalgamation of 2 schools. The lower school, which accommodates years 7-9 is at 50 London Rd, Enfield, EN2 6EL. This is a 2 minute walk from Enfield Town train station.
Lower School - See MapThe upper school site, which accommodates years 10, 11 and the sixth form, is at Oakthorpe Rd, Palmers Green, N13 5TY. This is a 2 minute walk from Palmers Green train station.
Upper School - See MapA free taxi service is available at all times to transport staff between the sites, if required. There are plans for the whole school to be relocated to the Palmers Green site. In preparation for this move, and in response to increased sixth form numbers, a new art block has recently been built and the sixth form centre, library and Science labs have been refurbished.
