Our aim is to help the school community to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to make a positive contribution to society. The framework for learning is based upon Church of England principles but recognises the multi faith make up of the school community. The diverse nature of the school community is a real strength of the school and allows us to learn from each other’s backgrounds and experiences. We want everyone who to enjoy the experience of learning and we strongly believe the best learning takes place when there is real partnership between home, school and the local community. Slough and Eton is a “fully extended” school and offers support for pupils, parents and community members to access learning.
Having specialist status in Business and Enterprise allows us to make the curriculum particularly interesting and engaging whilst ensuring pupils are aware of the commercial world that exists beyond school. We encourage all pupils to consider their learning up to the age of eighteen or nineteen and to take part in activities outside of the formal curriculum. We expect most pupils to enter our sixth form which offers a range of courses providing routes into employment or into Higher Education.
In February 2008 Ofsted said;
"Slough and Eton takes good care of all its students, with strong pastoral and good academic support"
"The school has built an outstanding range of partnerships across the community to provide good care, guidance and support for all students and to help raise attainment"
"The personal development and well being of learners in the sixth form is outstanding"
Slough and Eton is an exciting place to be. In 2008 there has been a £10 million investment in new buildings. This provides us with a fantastic environment in which to learn. Our facilities are superb. The future for Slough and Eton is tremendously exciting and I hope you will share in the rewarding experience offered by the school by becoming a member of our community.
