The Matthew Clark Holdings Group is a joint venture owned 50:50 by Constellation Brands, the world’s largest wine producer by volume, and Punch Taverns the UK’s biggest pub company.

With turnover of over £600m, we are the largest non-brewer owned drinks distribution group in the UK. There are three main parts to the group:

Matthew Clark is the largest part of the group selling alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks to the UK On-trade. It supplies wine, spirits, beer, cider and soft drinks to pubs, restaurants, hotels and leisure venues, serving some of the biggest names in the industry.

Headquartered in Bristol it operates with 12 depots across the UK, over 1,300 staff servicing up to 15,000 customers both independent outlets and national retailers. With over 3,500 stock lines, it has one of the broadest portfolios of any distributor in the industry.

Forth Wines is a Scottish based wholesaler, focused on wine and spirits sales. Operating out of its base just north of Edinburgh, it services a broad mix of hotels and restaurants both in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Wine Studio was formed 18 months ago to service the top end of the restaurant and hotel sector in the London area. Specialising in fine wine, with a tailored delivery service, it is making strong progress in its first full year of operation.

The Group has the ambition to double its size over the next 5 years through organic growth and acquisition. We have a clear vision to become the trusted partner and route to market for drinks supply to the UK on trade.

The finance group will be a key part of this ambition, to ensure that the business grows in the most effective manner driving cashflow and return on capital.

The finance group consists of over 70 staff, providing support in three key areas, accounting services and control, financial planning and reporting and decision support. It is currently going through a programme of fundamental change that will ensure it can partner the business effectively and support it in its growth aspirations.
