In 1993 a joint venture was created with South Staffordshire Water, recognising that there was a huge gap in the home emergency market. Home insurers did not offer customers a complete home emergency solution and so the HomeServe vision was born . to offer customers home emergency related insurance products, offering them complete peace of mind. From selling the first plumbing and drains policy in 1994, the business has transformed into a successful, fast moving FTSE 250 company, with over 8 million emergency insurance policies sold across the UK, France, Spain and the US. Partnerships have been formed with utility, energy and insurance companies, offering: We offer our Partners and their customers:

• Warranty marketing, repair and maintenance solutions.

• Warranty provision on household goods and home infrastructure, such as plumbing and wiring.

• A job on demand service for the home.

• A comprehensive service from marketing insurance policies, customer administration, claims handling and the deployment of employed and subcontracted repairers.

The business has grown rapidly offering customers a network of nearly 5,000 Approved Tradesmen in the UK, from gas engineers to glaziers, direct to their door to do fixed price repairs and arrange Comprehensive Policies for the home. While HomeServe used to only look after home emergencies, our vision is to expand beyond this, offering customers a full home solution. This will allow us to manage repairs, maintenance jobs and improvements in and around their home. What is more, customers will have the choice of either an insurance policy or will be able to get 'job on demand' for anything that needs sorting around their home. Whatever the customer needs, we want to be "the first place people turn to when it comes to fixing, maintaining and looking after their home."
