Finance Opportunities in Hampshire

Welcome

Hampshire County Council is a major provider of services and a major employer in the South of England. We make a significant contribution to the life and work of the people of Hampshire.

The County Council is an important part of the every day life of Hampshire delivering a vast and diverse range of services including adult services (care of older people and others in need of special care), childrens’ services (responsible for co-ordinating all services to enable children to fulfil their potential), environmental services (planning and managing the infrastructure, waste management) and providing facilities for the public including libraries, museums, archives, sports, arts, recreation and leisure.

With over 32,000 people employed in so many different departments, it’s not surprising that there is a vast range of employment opportunities within the County Council. As an employer with a strong belief in developing people to their full potential, there are excellent opportunities for personal development.

There are many benefits in working for Hampshire County Council, including being part of an organisation with a strong commitment to providing equality of opportunity in both the services it provides and for its employees.

The Council provides good working conditions and is committed to the health and safety of its staff. There is also, of course, the satisfaction of contributing to the life and work of the community as a whole.

Throughout the County Council, there are a variety of schemes and programmes to assist employees in meeting work and domestic commitments. These include flexible working practices such as occasional home working and work-share arrangements, assistance in finding good quality childcare including preference on the waiting list at two Winchester-based nurseries.

Advice on healthy living and working and a confidential helpline is available to all employees to help tackle work and personal problems. Employees are encouraged to gain qualifications, and career and personal development are an important part of our approach to training.

Hampshire has much to offer you as a place to live and Hampshire County Council has much to offer you as a place to work.
