A leading advanced manufacturing organisation with a strong global presence is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its growing team at a state-of-the-art facility in outer Belfast. Your new role
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimising manufacturing processes for complex components. You will support production operations, introduce new technologies, and drive efficiency improvements across a variety of processes including surface treatments, bonding, painting, and assembly.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and improving manufacturing methods to enhance quality and efficiency
- Designing and specifying tooling, fixtures, and equipment
- Leading process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting new product introduction and change management processes
- Defining manufacturing process flows and supporting layout optimisation
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, BOMs, and procedures
- Providing technical support across production, quality, and supply chain teams
- Supporting customer requirements and responding to technical queries
- Assisting with training operators on new or updated processes
- Driving innovation and implementing new technologies where appropriate
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- HNC/HND (Level 3 or above) in Mechanical Engineering or similar (degree desirable)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a regulated or high-quality environment
- Experience in at least one of the following processes: surface treatments, bonding, painting, assembly, or automated processes
- Strong problem-solving skills with familiarity in tools such as 8D or structured root cause analysis
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Experience with automation or robotics
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (FMEA, SPC, VSM, TPM)
- CAD and ERP system experience
- Data analysis or Lean/Six Sigma exposure
