Technical IT Project Manager

Digital & Technology provide a strategic and transformational University-wide approach to digital and technology, designing and delivering services to enable learning and teaching, research, innovation, with a focus on continuously improving the student and staff experiences.

The Technical Project Manager is an exciting new opportunity which will work closely with the Director for Technology, and key Heads of Service, to ensure successful delivery of multiple complex technology projects and change initiatives, aligned to meet UAL’s overall strategy, including cyber security, cloud hosting and storage, endpoint protection and service management.

You will ensure customer needs are met and initiatives are delivered on time and to budget, whilst taking a service design approach within the delivery of technology change, to ensure the University’s service needs are met through the continued development of their product roadmaps.

Your profile
  • Experience of working within a large organisation to deliver full lifecycle technology change
  • Experience of delivery across any of the following technology services: Networks/Hosting/Storage, cyber security, Identity, M365, service management and desktop
  • An ability to championing technology change, working with technical and operational teams to embed new services
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with both internal technology teams and the wider organisation
  • Strong supplier management skills, including negotiating, influencing, and building effective partnerships.
  • Experience of prioritising workloads across multiple projects/ change initiatives, organising time and resources effectively; creating detailed work schedules,
  • Experience of forming governance, including relationship management with sponsors and influencers, and efficient and timely management of pre-board reporting and all follow-up activity
  • Experience of effectively communicating complex and/or technical information to a diverse audience
