Our support begins at your initial interview with us, where we will give you advice on presenting your CV to ensure its immediate appeal and impact. Your CV must grab the reader's attention from the outset and compel them to read more. Does it sound assertive and positive? Is the document well laid out and easy to follow?

Our aim is to ensure the content is clear, structured, concise and relevant and we will use our expertise to make it the best it can be.

Interview techniques

Interviewing for a job can be a nerve-wracking ordeal for many people. You may feel uncomfortable “selling” yourself or fielding unexpected questions, or maybe the prospect of having to meet and impress new people is enough to trigger your anxiety.

The good news is that interviewing is a skill you can learn. With the right tips and techniques—and plenty of practice—you can become a master of sharing your value with potential employers and presenting yourself effectively. It’s what you can add to that company that counts.

Good communication is the key to a good interview. You need to know what you want and why you are there, and to be able to convey that to the employer. You are trying to convince the employer that you would be a positive and beneficial addition to their company or business.

Know what your personal and career goals are, and how they fit with the company’s goals. Do some research on the company to find out what it believes in and other key information. Who do they work with? Who are their competitors? You want to show them that you’ve gone that extra mile to impress them.

Provided that you are willing to put in some time to prepare, at Hays we can give you valuable insight into the company and the person who will be interviewing you. This can give you that edge in the recruitment process.
