Your new company
You will be joining an industry-leading contractor based in Derby operating in the highways industry. This multi-accredited and established organisation has a strong pipeline of work and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Their commitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader in the industry and, due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Derby office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, maintaining and processing financial and project transactions
- Analysing project costs and preparing monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance
- Making site visits to carry out inspections
- Liaising with all levels of the construction and professional team, including clients
- Valuing completed work and applying for payments
- Assisting in providing accurate, real-time, monthly reports (CVRs) and outcome forecasts
- Attending meetings on-site or elsewhere with site teams, clients, suppliers and other parties as and when required.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification (HNC/HND)
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the highways industry
- Sound knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Full UK driving licence.
