Hays Information Technology IT Director Forum 24 th June 2009
Local IT leaders attend networking and round table discussion forum
While companies are feeling pain during the global recession, it’s imperative for IT leaders to search for opportunities to operate differently today while maintaining a sharp focus on the longer-term. With cost cutting high on the agenda for most CIOs and a changed landscape for the IT recruitment market many employers particularly (SME’s and Public Sector organisations) are using current market conditions to hire talent that would have proved difficult to attract in boom times.
In the first forum of its kind in London, local IT Directors met to discuss a number of key issues around how to survive the downturn including how to preserve quality whilst cutting costs, different cost cutting strategies across infrastructure and the take up and implementation of new technologies such as Virtualisation, Cloud Computing and Social Networking.
Please click here to view a short video clip where some of these issues are discussed by James-Lloyd Townshend, MD for Hays Information Technology, Paul Towers, formerly IT Director for BCA Europe and John Robinson, Group IT Director at Morse.
The forum was held over breakfast at the Hays Information Technology Moorgate office in London and the above video clip was produced from video interviews conducted with some of the attendees after the round table discussions.
