Brokers working in insurance advise on the purchase of insurance products, and operating as intermediaries between product suppliers and the client. While the responsibilities of a broker vary, the role  typically involves the provision of best advice to the client on the available insurance options available. 

Good business development skills are required for insurance broker jobs. A good understanding of the insurance market is essential as well as an understanding of the level of risk within a given sector.

Insurance brokers must also be fully conversant with FSA regulations. Good communications skills are also required, as is confidence, as brokers are constantly liaising with clients, providing suitable advice.
