How to succeed as a career interim

Interim assignments can typically last anything from several months to projects of much longer duration. In either case, you will be expected to make your mark from the off.

“Employers expect you to have strong leadership and communications skills; you’ll need to get your message across to internal and external stakeholders,” notes Aine Flood, Senior Manager at Health & Safety.

Interim experience gives your CV the edge

Your experience of different sectors and projects will grow with every interim health & safety job, increasing your marketability and reputation, which in turn will secure a steady stream of assignments.

Flexibility and adaptability must be the cornerstones of your thinking. Duration of role, industry sector and importantly location will differ project to project, so you must be prepared for potential upheavals. And you must fit into different company cultures.

Continue your search for health and safety jobs.
