LOCATE is a unique project management methodology, developed by Hays Healthcare Global Resourcing, that ensures a consistent and cost effective approach to each recruitment project. A best practices guide through the complex international recruitment process, from initial scoping of the project through to candidate attraction, interviews and compliance, up to the arrival and support of new employees.
The LOCATE methodology is organised into six phases, with several workstreams and sign-off points. Each phase and workstream follows a step-by-step approach and provides a range of templates that can be used, wherever possible, as working documents and deliverables. These phases include:
Project Start Up – this first phase covers the initial scoping of the project from defining requirements, setting project goals through to preparing a detailed project brief.
Project Initiation – looks at developing a project plan to define a structured approach to delivering goals, defining risks, issues and deliverables, setting controls and creating a communications plan.
Candidate Sourcing – where interviews are to take place outside the UK, this phase covers everything from establishing the client interviewing team and agreeing the logistics of the trip, vacancy management, building a candidate long list from which to select a shortlist, right through to defining interview logistics.
Selection Process – this looks at all aspects of pre-interview preparation, interviewing, selection management and offer management. The same process is followed for face-to-face interviews in the candidate’s country, client’s country or via telephone/video conference.
Start Date – this provides a standard set of tools and templates to manage everything from the candidate’s acceptance of an offer, compliance and obtaining work visas, through to relocation, support and start date.
Project Closure – the final phase of the LOCATE methodology is the formal project closure. This looks at lessons learnt, client and candidate levels of satisfaction and develops a project closure report.
