The Daily Telegraph website features an article about Hays’ top ten jobs which have proved most resilient in the recession and the sectors that are set to grow in 2010. This article follows the latest UK unemployment figures and all the roles and information was complied by Hays. This article was also publicised prominently within the business section of yesterday’s paper (21st January 2010).
Included in the list is health and social care, which states that doctors, qualified social workers and other healthcare professionals are in demand as they all benefit from a more secure job environment due to prevailing shortages. The NHS has an ageing workforce and specialist nurses are in demand across the UK.
Also included was education, particularly maths, science and head teachers due to severe shortages. There are regional hot spots for qualified primary teachers and demand for early years’ staff nationwide.
Social housing, pharma, corporate governance, credit control and IT are some of the other areas named within our top ten.
