Culture Capital

London is at least two thousand years old, and has amassed quite the collection of art and pieces of cultural significance, most of which are housed in free museums. As one of the largest exporters of music and the written word, London is also a hot spot for modern culture with a wealth of exhibitions, concerts and events taking place in venues across the capital.

Shopping Capital

London has long been seen as the ultimate shopping destination. You will already have heard of one of the following shopping districts, such as Knightsbridge, Oxford Street, Bond Street, Regent Street or Kensington. There are shops to suit all tastes, from the established department stores such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols or Harrods to the cutting edge Westfield centres based either side of the city. Entertainment Capital

Hundreds of theatres, concert venues and sports stadia await the newcomer to London, and all within easy commute. Whether you want to see the latest movie or hot band, it’s on your doorstep. Of note is the recently opened O2 Arena – one of the largest music venues in Europe – along with staple favourites such as the Royal Albert Hall and Royal National Theatre. Sporting Capital

2012 will no doubt be a great year for sport in the capital, as it plays host to the Olympic Games. Londoners were ecstatic when they won the opportunity to stage it and much development has gone into the East of the city to make sure it is 100% ready.
