Education - temporary and supply work
Temporary or supply work involves working day-to-day or on short-term temporary contracts, often at a variety of schools, nurseries, colleges and academies. Teachers choose temporary and supply work for a number of reasons, including:
- Relocation to a new area
- Wanting to gain more experience as a newly qualified teacher
- Wanting to work following retirement
However, many people choose supply work as their career path for the work / life balance, as you get to choose to work at times and in locations that suit you.
