Employment tribunal hearings are at record levels – recent statistics show some 236,000 claims were processed during 2010. As a result the coming months will see many employers facing the challenge of successfully defending themselves in this increasingly litigious environment.
Attending the mock employment tribunal will give you the chance to improve your understanding of how employment tribunals work and also give you the confidence to prepare successfully for future tribunals.
The mock tribunal will give you the opportunity to observe how the tribunal process works in practice. Audience participation is warmly encouraged. You will have the opportunity to consider what documentation needs to be presented and how witness statements are constructed. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the cross examination of witnesses and vote on the tribunal's decision. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the hearing.
The course will be conducted by members of Thomas Eggar LLP's employment team in conjunction with Hays Human Resources comprising a number of specialised employment law advocates. It will be of benefit to HR professionals and line managers alike; anyone who will be attending a tribunal in future, think they may have to attend one or would simply like to increase their knowledge of the process.
