They are taking on the whole role of class teacher, carrying out planning and working as part of a close-knit teaching team. For the last half term of the 2015-16 academic year, they taught year 3 at a Wolverhampton primary school, where they covered a last minute and immediate resignation on a full time basis. They undertook the full role of class teacher, including the conducting and writing of assessments and contributing to end of year reports. They are currently booked until Christmas 2016 and is keen to secure teaching work, on a full or part time basis, from January 2017.
They qualified as a PE specialist and where this is still a strength and interest of theirs, in terms of their core subject strength, this lies in Maths. Originally a mainstream primary teacher, this candidate has experience of teaching primary and secondary curriculums, in both mainstream and SEN settings, including EBD and behavioural units. They hold a proven track record of strong behaviour management and are keen to expand on their interest of working within either SEN or secondary settings, teaching primary aged children.
At interview, they highlighted their love of teaching Maths, which was evident when they talked about their enthusiasm for planning and delivering Maths lessons. They would be keen to teach primary Maths within a secondary setting, utilising their passion for teaching Maths, to support and boost Maths levels.
