This lively, bubbly and interactive practitioner is an exceptional MFL Teacher. They are passionate about teaching French and Spanish to children across both Key Stage 1 & 2. They recently moved back from Scotland where they worked for the Aberdeenshire Council as a Visiting MFL Specialist Teacher. They would visit schools within Aberdeenshire and teach Primary School children French and Spanish.
This pro-active teacher created their own teaching job at a Blackburn Primary School and taught Spanish to Key Stage 2 children for two years. They wrote a policy, audited resources, were responsible for the MFL budget and wrote a school action plan for MFL. They were able to establish International links with a Primary School in Majorca where children had pen-pals. The children’s standard of Spanish was described as ‘excellent’ and they were able to correspond with their pen-pals using basic Spanish phrases.
They prefer teaching KS2 pupils as they have long term experience of working in Years 3,4 & 6. They enjoy teaching Literacy and have experience of working with individual pupils on the ‘Every Child can Write’ scheme to improve their writing skills. Furthermore, they have taught Year 6 Literacy and Numeracy booster classes in addition to raise attainment.
