OUR EXPERT OPINION
Sarah has recently relocated to the area and has therefore approached Hays seeking a long term MFL teaching job opportunity within the Wigan and surrounding areas. A French and German specialist, Sarah has 3 years teaching experience where she has been responsible for teaching both languages through to KS5.
When speaking with Sarah, it was clear that she immerses herself in all areas of school life, as demonstrated by her participation in school trips, as well as work she has done with PGCE students within her previous schools. It was also evident that Sarah is passionate about languages and I therefore strongly believe that this would motivate students.
“Sarah is a very good teacher who always strives to maximise her students’ learning through engaging, well planned and resourced lessons. She uses a wide range of teaching strategies, including group and pair work, and reflects openly on the success of her strategies. She shares her resources and her expertise willingly with our department and the wider faculty, and has this year supported and mentored our PGCE student in a positive and caring way. Sarah has followed our detailed marking and assessment policies, marking all her students’ work in detail and ensuring that all her students have ample opportunity to respond to her feedback in lessons.
Sarah is very professional, punctual and committed. In her year with us, she has quickly become a valued member of the department and is certainly someone who had been earmarked for development to middle leadership. She has quickly built positive working relationships with her teaching colleagues, the members of her pastoral team and the wider school community. Sarah has already joined in extra-curricular activities and trips with enthusiasm.
Sarah’s students recognise that she works hard to enable them to achieve the very best they can. In a very academically- successful school, she has shown herself very able to challenge her students to the top of A level teaching. While she was new to A Level in September 2015 when she joined us, she worked very hard to familiarise herself with the curriculum and the demands of this examination, and has consistently delivered very good teaching which has been much appreciated by her students.
We would highly recommend Sarah for this post.”
