This student is currently looking for an opportunity within aerospace or propulsion as a mechanical design or analysis (CFD; stress; aerodynamics etc.) engineer.
Currently studying the MSc. Design of Rotating Machines as part of a double-degree programme with Institut Superieur de Mecanique de Paris (MSc. Mechanical Engineering).
In his current course, he has completed 3 separate projects:
1. Team of 4 people – designed a hydrodynamic bearing for a gas turbine.
2. Concept design and stress analysis of a fan (including all bearings, seals etc.).
3. Major Group Project – Determining a condition monitoring approach for a fleet of centrifugal borehole pumps – sponsored by Anglian Water Services Ltd. This candidate was elected as Project Manager to lead this project by his team. Was directly responsible for 5 other students.
Anglian Water were extremely impressed with the success of the project so this student was asked to continue the 3rd project as part of his thesis by Anglian Water due to his high-level of involvement in the project. He is currently studying the rate of failure of these borehole pumps.
President of a society with around 20 members – find real-world design projects that can be developed by students in collaboration with other companies to add value to the engineering industry.
