Functional Skills English Tutor
This candidate is an experienced and qualified Study Programme Tutor with a level four, subject specialism in literacy. She has recently worked as a Functional Skills Tutor within a 6th form setting delivering Level 2 Maths and English and GCSE. The candidate has worked with adults in community settings; some with ESOL needs and learning disabilities; disengaged and challenging New Deal clients and young people on the Study Programme, she has an in-depth knowledge of barriers to learning and, as a result, has a sensitive and patient approach to teaching. This candidate has twelve years’ experience working as a tutor/ assessor across both college and training provider settings supporting students from different backgrounds and at different learning levels. They have delivered a variety of subjects including Basic Skills, Functional Skills Maths (up to level 2) and English (to level 3) and Employability. They are adaptable in their delivery approach, having experience teaching the disengaged as well as those referred by the job centre.
They are available to start immediately and willing to travel across West Yorkshire for work.
