“I am a passionate and positive person, highly motivated to be an outstanding teacher and to ensure that every single one of the pupils I teach receives the best education possible.
In my previous post as Head of Key Stage Three and teaching and learning I have re-written schemes of work, set up a tracking and intervention system to extend the value we add and provide a sound foundation for Key Stage Four.
During my time at my previous school I undertook the role of Head of Key Stage Four as a maternity cover for a colleague. I led the introduction of a new specification, ensuring the department was prepared for the changes of the new curriculum. I was responsible for KS4 examinations, organising and overseeing moderation and ultimately the Key Stage Four results, which were on target and pleasing.
The results of pupils I taught were consistently on or above those of the department as a whole and the progress of boys in my classes was in line with that of girls. Last year 90% of the pupils in my two GCSE classes made 3 levels of progress. The department as a whole was 86% and this was the highest of all the core subjects in the school.
In my previous schools I achieved excellent SATs, GCSE and A2 results. Lesson observations highlighted and praised my planning, marking and positive relationships with classes. I was representative for the black peoples’ forum, assessing and managing the inclusion of a range of cultures into our schemes of work, liaising with members of the forum and finding ways to include their ideas and culture into the curriculum. In this role I organised in-school performances and workshops from different cultural groups.”
