Qualified solicitor currently at a major Hollywood studio with a focus on commercial, intellectual property and corporate work. In-house and private practice experience, having trained at a major international law firm.

Solid academic qualifications including a law degree from The University of Manchester (2:1), Legal Practice Course from the College of Law (Distinction) and a Postgraduate Diploma in UK, EU & US copyright law from Kings College London (Merit).

Strong technical skills and a commercial approach to legal issues, honed from working with colleagues and directly with clients. Alert to legal developments which impact the industry, with a complementary understanding of the current regulatory environment and media landscape.


Drafting and negotiating content acquisition agreements with a number of producers and distributors, as well as agreements for channel carriage/distribution, technical/software, sponsorship and consultancy. Project managing transactions including reviewing all vendor, customer, acquisition, and licensor agreements to ensure that they are terminated or sub-licensed effectively. Supporting the consumer products team, in particular to ensure manufacturing meets European safety standards.


Successfully defending a complaint made to the Advertising Standards Authority (‘ASA’) regarding a trailer for a horror movie, with sole responsibility for drafting responses to the ASA. Drafting master creative services agreements and other commercial agreements with companies running competitions, events and promotions and/or producing marketing materials, including issuing any necessary licences, assignments and release forms to protect company intellectual property. Working efficiently to tight newspaper print deadlines on terms and conditions for competitions. Liaising with colleagues in the US to ensure compliance with EU data protection laws and marketing regulations during global marketing activities.


Drafting a range of documents including sale and purchase agreements, deeds of variation, release and adherence, Companies House forms, board minutes, written resolutions, powers of attorney, joint venture agreements and memoranda of directors' liability. Dealing with new corporate requirements such as the ‘PSC Register’ and the ‘apprenticeship levy’, and reporting on these to management. Reviewing privacy and terms of use policies on websites to ensure legal compliance.


Drafting high value television licensing agreements with various channels and networks across the EMEA region including free, basic and pay television and digital/video-on-demand services.
