This candidate is an experienced governance and company secretarial professional with over 8 years’ experience working in the charity and not for profit sectors.

After coming to London from New Zealand, my candidate was keen on gaining UK experience, and took on a some recruitment roles where one of which was recruiting and appointing Non-executive Chairmen, Directors & Trustees within the NHS. Shortly after this, in 2008, they achieved a governance/company secretarial role where they were responsible for a small team ensuring secretariat support. Whilst in this role, my candidate also began their studies for their Law degree.

After a career break to look after a sick relative and some travel, this candidate took on a role with a large lottery fund as a Board Secretary/Governance Manager. Here they were responsible for secretariat support to the Board and Committees, servicing meetings, working with senior stakeholders and advising on governance matters.

This candidate has recently finished a fixed-term contract with a large UK charity as a Board Secretary where they covered trustee elections, governance restructures, statutory compliance and reviewing and implementing new systems.
