Assessment Centres

Predict future performance from current performance.

An assessment centre is an event, often held in-house, that provides an opportunity for an organisation to attract, select and recruit applicants. In turn, it also offers candidates insight into a prospective employer, how they do business and the value they place on their employees.

Assessment centres:

  • Are tailored to assess several key competency or performance areas
  • Use a variety of techniques – interviews, psychometrics and simulations
  • Involve multiple assessors or observers to increase objectivity

Assessment centres provide a range of business benefits  to recruiting clients:

  • Reduces the inherent risks in subjective selection decisions, saving time and money in the long term. Multiple methods of assessment are often used with an individual or small number of applicants when the role has a high value and impact for the organisation
  • Assessments are anchored to behaviours, which are observed, not inferred. This provides a more reliable indication of likely future performance
  • Increased objectivity in decision-making, as processes are designed to ensure participants are given an equal opportunity to demonstrate their ability across a range of relevant situations
  • Where the assessment centre genuinely reflects the job and organisation, research has shown that candidates are impressed by the company even if rejected

Two levels of service are available in our standard assessment centre offering which require a mimimum of 4 candidates.
