Ability Testing
There is robust evidence which shows that, When selected and used by qualified practitioners,  ability tests are the most accurate predictor of ‘on the job performance’ and can effectively discriminate across long-listed and short-listed candidates. Our in-house and associate teams are qualified to deliver the full range of ability tests available in the market. We manage the administration and have a full library to choose from including Saville Consulting, SHL, Watson Glazer Critical Thinking & Technical aptitude tests.

Personality Profiling
Personality profiling provides an indication of an individual’s preferred behavioural style and underlying traits. This information is extremely useful in predicting the potential of candidates to perform at a higher level and can be interpreted against the competencies and values that predict good job performance for any given role. The information gained from a personality questionnaire can provide an invaluable interview aid for probing possible areas of strength and weakness around role and cultural fit. The outputs can also be used to provide powerful developmental guidance once the successful candidate is in place. There are many personality instruments available in the market and each one has its own relative strengths. Rather than being tied to one test publisher, our independence means we can advise our clients on the right profiling tool to ensure that you see the required outputs. Our tools include SHL’s OPQ, Saville Consulting’s Wave, the Hogan Development Survey and the 16PF.

Assessment Centres
We have extensive experience in designing and running behaviourally-anchored assessment centres across a wide range of disciplines and organisational levels. Our solutions range from the development of bespoke and role-specific exercises to the use of ‘off-the shelf’ exercises to deliver robust but cost-effective talent assessment. Our design and implementation approach includes role scoping, a dedicated project manager and customised data integration or bespoke report writing. We provide this service to organisations assessing external candidates for new appointments, current employees for promotion or development and we also offer bespoke support for organisations facing major re-structuring.

Assessor Provision
We provide qualified and experienced assessors, assessment centre managers and centre administrators. We minimise the need for our clients to take HR or line managers away from their ‘day job,’ enhance the objectivity of the assessment event and reduce the likelihood of litigation that can come from poorly run and poorly assessed centres. We deliver these services across the UK at all levels of assessment.

Internal Assessor Training
Many organisations choose to reduce the cost of assessment interventions over the longer term by training up internal managers to assess at assessment events. Our qualified consultants deliver workshops to ensure that line managers develop appropriate skills in job analysis, competency based interviewing and interview panel management and behavioural assessment to ensure robust and effective selection decisions.

Bespoke Assessment Design
Hays has a wealth of experience in the design and development of bespoke assessment tools. We will work with you to identify the role priorities, and agree the structure of exercises required to support informed design making. Once the structure and assessment focus is agreed, our in-house team will conduct the core design activities required to develop robust and reflective exercises.
